Staying Safe Whilst Rock Climbing

By Wendy Racklave

Discover this wonderful sport called rock climbing. There are different techniques and skills you need as well as the different styles when you go rock climbing. Everywhere in the world wherever this sport is practiced is now becoming very popular.

You climb up and across either a man made rock or a natural rock formation this is what this sport is about. And your goal obviously is to reach the top of this rock or if the group or instructor has chosen something different. You have to use your hands and feet when you do this sport and rely on your own weight not only your balance.

Rock climbing only started somewhere in the 1900's but before that this sport was called Victorian mountaineering. And because of the alpines it was formed into a sport and supposedly started in Europe somewhere. You have to obtain equipment that acts as your hands and feet and this aids you while climbing. Without equipment of this sort you won't be able to climb and will probably kill yourself.

This technique today is known as free climbing and what this means is that you rely on natural rock and the use of your protection equipment on going upwards. There are now categories of sub styles and this will depend on the configuration of the belay as well. Over time grading technique has been devised making you aware of accuracy as well as comparing difficulties in the area where a person climbs.

When you go climbing a route has been mapped out for you. And when you start out you use your own hands and feet and for a little more security you will use a bouldering pad and this type of climbing is called bouldering and the height is around four to five meters high. And the higher you are off the ground the more dangerous this sport becomes.

Climbers usually work in couples and use specialized techniques for climbing as well as the essential equipment which aids in safety they will also make use of ropes and anchors which aids the climbers in case of a fall. These anchors and ropes are constructed differently to suit each particular style and then again the roped climbing is divided based on how their belay systems are set up.

Top roping is where beginners will start and you will be given easy bouldering as well and so this is the way you will work your way up. When you have developed some kind of skills and have some confidence in lead climbing your winning. Top roping and lead climbing are two different types of climbing. And of course don't forget systems whereby you are graded. These also differ from one place to the next in each country.

You can only climb rocks if they are dry because if you don't get a good grip you will obviously fall. Always climb with an instructor don't try and do this on your own because all that is needed is one mistake and you will meet with death very quickly.

6 Reasons For The Rise Of The English Premier League

By James Wilshire

Many consider the English Premier League to be the world's top football league. Some may be curious as to why this is so. However, there is nothing strange about that since it is second to none when it comes to the consistent provision of the best in football action every season. The media also does its part in intense reporting of its development every year.

Those are not the only reasons why football fans continue to tune in to the league. There are certainly more than the 6 that are listed here, but these are perhaps the main factors that have contributed to the league's success and popularity.

1. There are plenty of goals that get scored in the league each and every week. There might be times when droughts might crop up but that happens everywhere. At the end of the day, the fans will flock to the games which produce the most goals and that is where the EPL does well.

2. There are some of the most famous clubs in the world that are part of the EPL. With the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal making up the best teams, these are the clubs that are well loved by many fans around the world.

3. Even though the top four clubs at the end of each season has remained largely the same in the past few years, there can be no comparison as to the number of upsets that occur in the Premiership. The smaller teams with scarce financial resources can still attain fairytale results against the traditional giants.

4. There is a tendency for teams to take more an initiative when trying to get positive results. These means going forward in attack and making that the focus of their tactics. It often leaves them open to conceding goals which could hurt their chances of survival but teams are more willing to take such risks with the reward of doing well far outweighing the security of being defensive.

5. There is a high visibility about the league in various media forms. Apart from the many games that are shown on television sets around the world, newspapers, radios and the Internet have helped to keep the league and its clubs in people's consciousness. This undoubtedly makes sure that they become part of life for many individuals, especially their fans.

6. There is also no shortage of characters in the league. Even though star player Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to Spain, the likes of Steven Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Wayne Rooney and more will ensure that fans have access to great players. Club managers like Alex Ferguson also provide color to a sport that is as much about the game itself as it is about the drama that surrounds its characters.

More Time Than Money - Auctions Can Be For You

By Edie Mindell

Take it to the web for an entirely different holiday shopping experience Now that we have explored the material world of traffic, long check out lines and swelling crowds it is time to enter an entirely different kind of shopping jungle. This is Holiday Shopping Diva here with a whole new shopping subject and a bag of tricks to guide even the least computer savvy shopper to cyber success this holiday season.

Christmas on the Block

Ok, first things first - just because you are facing a computer screen instead of an intimidating mob of shoppers does not mean the competition is any less fierce. In some ways it is more so, but don't let that frighten you.

Heading to the online auctions to shop is a great way to stretch your dollar, avoid post office messes, and find a wider variety of toys in one spot. That being said you still need to prepare. The list, the research and the stakeout are all still important. This initial work will allow you to get down to the nitty-gritty of defending your bid when the time comes.

Gone Shopping

With your list and exact toy needs in mind it is time to head to the auction sites to find little Billy's first toddler bike. Having done the research means you know exactly what you want and this increases your odds of finding it among the thousands of cyber offerings listed as toddler bike. Once you have zeroed in on the target, place your bid. Timing is often very important. You can put the toys you wish to observe in a special 'watch' list. This allows you to keep a close eye on the toy without placing a bid. It is a good idea to watch an item before officially placing your bid. This is especially true for auctions that still have several days before they close or for toy items that are likely to be popular.

As you watch your list, keep track of similar toys and their selling prices. This will help you know what you can expect a winning bid to be.

Going once, going twice and sold! To nannygoo124

As you compile your watch list one of the most important things you need to decide is what your maximum bid will be. Remember as you calculate how much you are willing to spend on Suzie's custom step stool, remember to account for shipping. It is easy to get carried away in the excitement of last minute bids and end up spending way more than you had intended.

Near the end of the auction place your bid. If the auction site has an automatic re-bid system it is a good idea to use it. This allows you to set your top price and then if you are out bid the site will automatically re-bid on your behalf until your top price is reached.

As the auction time is close to finishing, now is the time to be hyper vigilant. Don't turn your back on your item for even a minute in the final 15 minutes of the auction or you may lose it. Shopping the auction adds an element of fun to Christmas shopping you won't find elsewhere and you don't have to fix your hair to get it!

It takes a bit of time to find the good deals, using auctions and if you have the extra time, it could be worth it.

Cast includes Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. (93 minutes, 1979)

The Deep End of the Sea: Persuasively performed adaptation of Jacquelyn Mitchard's best seller in reference to the disappearance of a 3 year old at his mommy's high school reunion, and his possibile return 9 years later. Get Expedited Passports Fast, Even in as Little as 24 Hours

By Walter Witt

Your hopes for a beautiful Caribbean vacation sank right into the ocean the moment you check your passport's expiration date. Your ship sails in less than a week. Are you going to have to leave this cruise on the shore?

Don't jump ship if you need a passport in a hurry. Expedited passports can be gotten with in 24 hours even, although having at least a week to work with will save you money. 24 hour passports are readily available, for a small extra service fee.

Choosing the right service depends on the time you have to work with. If you have at least a week's leeway, standard services will suffice. Choose rush service if you need it within 4 to 6 business days. For an extra charge, urgent services are available in just 24 hours notice.

On top of the prompt service, passport companies are also immensely convenient. Processing forms can be a headache as they're complicated and need to be filled out to the last detail. Leaving it to the professionals saves you a big headache. With all the packing you have, the last thing you should worry about is bureaucracy.

Proper documentation needs to be provided for any name changes. For most cases, you don't even have to visit the agency and can provide all the information online. Check with the agency ahead of time, however, just to be sure.

Government agencies may be cheaper, but you pay in bureaucracy and delays, which are common. Even expedited passports can take as long as two weeks, sometimes even longer.

With a professional service, you can get expedited passports as soon as you need them. 24 hour passports are standard fare for this industry.

Get your passport when you need it, and then get back to packing. Sunrise ocean sands await your bare toes in tropical paradise.

Holiday Shopping Advice - Babies, Toddlers and Christmas

By Edie Mindell

Give the best gifts and still have a sane holiday without endless shopping. These tips are sure to come in handy when you are holiday shopping for babies and toddlers this season.

Does this sound familiar to anyone: The past several years have seen a veritable baby boom in your family. You and your siblings or siblings in law seem to have all been drinking the same water because you have all been blessed to become parents in the recent past.

This boom of babies has been most welcome by all, especially the delighted grandparents. As you all moved into parenthood together you have navigated certain new boundaries and still maintained a harmonious and loving family.

The advent of Christmas!

Now the blessed season of Christmas is knocking on your door and a whole new worry emerges. You would love to give a gift to each and everyone of your nieces and nephews from the oldest toddlers to the newest baby. Yet this gift giving bonanza is fraught with certain difficulties.

You and your siblings, while tied by strong family ties are not in the same places financially, in gift giving ideas and shipping distances. These differences make it difficult to know what type of gifts are appreciated or offensive.

The gift issue

All families at some point go through this same type of growing pain when grandbabies begin to arrive. You want to show your love, yet have no desire to be the one who trumps other's gifts if yours are more expensive or numerous. Worse yet your gifts end up making someone else look like a Holiday Humbug because you arrive with arms laden with gifts and all they have to pass out is hugs and kisses.

Get on the same page

To this end it is time to fill your role as a parent, sibling and as an aunt or uncle and broach the subject openly. Feelings will not be hurt if holiday gift giving plans are discussed openly among parents. This might not be the easiest conversation to begin, but it is much better to talk about it before seasons of gift giving blunders stack up and create hurt or resentment.

Get the ball rolling

To get the subject out into the open can be done any one of a number of ways. It is best to do it at a time when most of the family is gathered together in one place. Making sure as many people have a say in the initial conversation will ensure that no one feels backed into a gift giving corner because they weren't able to help set the ground rules right from the start.

Shopping for toddlers and babies at Christmas time should be full of fun. Discussing openly gift giving plans with your family will make sure your gifts are received in the same spirit of loving holiday fun.

Restful Traeth Bychan Beach, Near Anglesey Coastal Path, Great for Dinghy Sailing

Sunday, August 30, 2009 · 0 comments

By David Phillips

Enjoy the small, sheltered and cosy delights of east facing Traeth Bychan beach near Benllech, down a narrow country lane off the A5025. If you want to really appreciate some fine sea and mountain views covering Llanddona, the Carneddau peaks above Bangor, Puffin Island and Liverpool Bay, you must come here.

The edges of Traeth Bychan are rocky, while the middle area of the beach is sandy with a varying spread of small pebbles the length of the beach up to the dinghy park at the top. Given its sheltered position it's no surprise that Red Wharf Bay Sailing and Watersports Club have their clubhouse here, and can often see dinghies, powerboats and small day fishing boats queuing up to be towed up the beach on their trailers.

As the 4x4 reversed down the small slipway onto the sand, a few keen but tired sailors waded into the water in wetsuit to help align the boat on the trolley. This is quite a good spot to launch a boat, except in a strong easterly gale, given its position relative to the prevailing winds on Anglesey. The dinghy park is home to Mirrors, GP14's, Lasers, Toppers and others.

There are some interesting rock formations along the sides of Traeth Bychan beach, above which is a thick grassy slope. Here you will also find the Anglesey Coastal Path meandering its way between Benllech and Moelfre to the north, and its easy to access the path from near the beach. Go down the lane past the shop and car park to your right, on the corner to the left is the entrance to the path behind a white beach cottage.

Just 25 metres or so from the beach as you go up the lane is Traeth Bychan beach cafe which sells cold and hot drinks, ice creams and snacks, while next to this is a car park and toilets. Opposite the cafe is a static caravan park which are ideally placed for those wanting to enjoy watersports or walk the coastal path.

During the autumn and winter when boating activity is usually much reduced, this beach is a very peaceful and relaxing spot from which to appreciate the coastline and sea views. There is a piece of maritime history attached to Traeth Bychan beach which may be of interest to some visitors.

Built in Cammell Laird ship yard in 1938, the "T" class submarine HMS Thetis left the Mersey on 1 June 1939 with a crew of 103, sailing out to Liverpool Bay to carry out some tests. Some unusual and catastrophic events took place while she was submerged and 99 men lost their lives. A few months later, the Thetis was refloated and brought onto Traeth Bychan beach.

Whether you come here on a fine, clear winter's day for a walk across the beach, or in the heat of a summer's day are launching your dinghy for coastal exploration, the memory of Thetis and her lost crew will remain.

Horse Racing is the Most Exciting Sport Out There

By David Gately

A horse race is the pure embodiment of excitement and thrill--massive animals hurtling forth, chomping at the bit, deciding fates in the course of a couple short minutes. As long as horse racing has existed, betting on the horses has existed as well and today there is more opportunity than ever to get involved in this exciting sport, and to make a little money as well. Despite the opportunity, there is considerable risk and it is worth your while to do your research before laying down money. So many punters just bet on whims, but with the amount of information available to the public it makes more sense to use it to one's advantage. Here are some pieces of advice to get you started.

The form should be your bible, learn to understand what it says and how to use it. Its many abbreviations can be confusing, but here is a brief explanation of the most common ones: "T" tells you that the horse won in the past at this track, but in a race of a different distance; "D" indicates that the horse, in the past, has won at this distance, but not on this track; "C" tells you that the horse won at the same distance on the same track as today's; "B" is an indication for "beaten favorite;" "H" means "home track" for that horse; "W or M" tells you that this horse has won on wet tracks, rated either slow or heavy.

A great rule to follow is to look at horses who won in their last start. No rule is perfect, and you should always consider a number of factors in forming your opinion, but this one is a favorite guideline for expert punters.

Horse tables in the papers will show numbered ratings next to the horse's names, with 100 being the highest chance of winning and all other horses in the race at numbers below 100. While these are a good guide for novices, do not be fooled into thinking that 100s are always winners. Again, look at these numbers for an idea, but do further research as well.

In reality, favorites take the crown about 30% of the time, which should dispel any notions of a "sure thing".

Also keep in mind that trainers put equipment like eye blinkers and nose rolls on their horses. The form will tell you about these factors, so work them into your betting. In particular, if a trainer takes off or puts on blinkers, this could influence a change in the way you bet the race.

Horses that have recently dropped in class may be good bets, in the absence of other negative factors. On a racing form, look for either an arrow up or down, or "U" or "D" next to the horse's name to know whether or not it is moving class.

Track conditions are a big factor in predicting winners. Fast, slow, dead, and heavy describe the moisture on a track, with fast being a dry hard track and heavy being a wet track. These words also correspond to a numeric scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the driest and 10 being the wettest. If a horse is a recent winner but has not won in wet conditions, it may not be a good bet. Tracks have their personalities and idiosyncrasies, and you may find it easier to win on some tracks than on others. This is normal, and most veteran punters will tell you that they have tracks they love and tracks they hate. Avoid the ones you hate.

Don't be tricked into believing that firmers are great bets only because the odds have gotten better. Changes in the odds before a race are just one of the things you need to take note of.

The term "firmer" refers to a horse with odds that have moved in its favor, while a blower is one who has seen his odds get worse. You of course shouldn't think that all firmers are winners, or that blowers are proven losers. Make the call yourself.

The current price of a horse is the product of people's opinions, not of some concrete reality. Knowing this, look for horses for which your opinion differs significantly from the prevailing one. Take time and do your research, but stick to your opinion.

Find Complimentary MP Music Download Websites Online

By Jane L Bennett

There are many sites that provide a free mp3 music download. It can be dreadfully annoying to locate these websites, though. Many websites will appear like they are free but when you fill out several web pages of information but in the end you are requested to purchase something first or subscribe to a service. You may even be requested to pay money for a selection of products before you can download music.

It is best not to search for these services with a search engine. You won't find any lawful services this way. Most of these sites will want you to sign up and become a member and disburse a certain amount each month or even each year. If you like the songs on these websites then this can be a big deal, especially if they offer unlimited downloads for one fee.

There are so many laws in the United States that defend the file sharing of songs on the Internet. In essence to share music online for free of charge is illegal. Many lawsuits have come up where websites were effectively sued because they offered free online mp3 file sharing. It is permissible, though, if the artist and recording company agree to it and more often than not that is because of a particular promotion or maybe because the songs just are not that good anyways.

Most people suspect that music is just too costly to buy. Spending a buck on one song seems a bit ridiculous when they ought to be charging a few cents per song. The record companies and the artist still make a lot of cash, even with file sharing practices.

If a service operates outside of the United States then every now and then they offer free download or even very low-priced downloads. You can search for these sites if you want to learn more. Do your own investigation to find out if this is prohibited for you or not.

A excellent way to actually download mp3s for free is to come across free promotional tracks online. Even sites like iTunes proffer at no cost songs every week to market an artist or album. These are remarkable deals to take advantage of.

One good suggestion if you are looking for a actual free mp3 song is to just use the search engine for a particular song. Many times the artists will put a free mp3 version of a song on the internet. Just search on the Internet for singular free songs that you can download.

To download many mp3 songs the best thing to do is to sign up with a service that offers free downloads for one low monthly or yearly price. There are a lot of exceedingly lawful services online that proffer unrestricted downloads for one price. So if you want free of charge mp3 downloads there are quite a few ways to find them. Make sure that you do it legally. You don't want to get in trouble over a song. It's just not worth it.

An Introduction To Movie Downloads And Movie Software

By Alvin Burris

Legal movie downloads are one of the most difficult things to find on the Internet yet, ironically one of the things which are in highest demand and it is most peculiar the us the movie companies are still refusing to do anything about the problem, as though they don't realise that this is the main cause of piracy.

Understandably, for many reasons, many people want to be able to download movies legally of the Internet. This is especially true if you have a fast connection with a great deal of bandwidth per month, which a lot of people have. To be able to use your connection to its fullest advantage and get the best value out of your Internet connection, being able to download movies would be a great thing.

If you have searched on the Internet for legal movie download resources, and movie download software, then you have no doubt seen the there are a huge list of results. However, many of these have a grave shortcomings and some are just downright scams. These should be avoided at all costs obviously.

Some of these are illegal anyway, regardless of what they say. Many sites work around the law by asking you to pay a subscription while they link to various download resources which are in turn illegal. While the links are not illegal, and no files are posted on the website in question, downloading movies is still illegal and piracy. Instead of just downloading them yourself using the peer to peer file sharing programs, you are not only downloading pirated videos, but you also paying for them as well.

If you are in the United States, you generally have better access to movie downloads. When I refer to movie downloads, I refer to legal downloads. However, if you live outside the United States, unfortunately you are generally much more restricted as many of the site and the United States will not allow subscriptions from outside of that country.

There are various sites which are popular such as most famously, iTunes, but there are others as well. Unfortunately, some of them require you to use a web based player or any other specific media player which is what puts off a lot of people.

One of the other shortcomings of many sites is that there are only restricted to United States citizens. Cutting out the rest of the world is definitely a big disadvantage since you will find that the vast majority of genuine, legal movie download resources are restricted only to U. S. Citizens.

However, it is the unfortunate truth of the matter but until the movie companies start doing something about the issue, many people are going to continue turning to downloading pirate videos. This is because there is simply a much larger choice but it is strongly recommended that you do not do this since it is unethical and can get you into quite a lot of trouble in the future. What's more, companies are starting to crack down on it a great deal.

Do Legal Music Downloads Really Exist?

By Katheryn Lucas

Luckily, finding legal music downloads on the Internet is nothing like as difficult as it used to be. Finally, the music companies have started getting their act together and allowing people to download music of the Internet for a modest fee. This has a number of advantages associated with it.

It cannot be stressed enough that finding an downloading the legal music is of course a criminal offence and you could get caught and could get into quite a lot of trouble. What's more, you are leaving yourself open to getting viruses on your computer since many of the uses of such sites to upload material to it deliberately lace their software with malicious viruses.

Although some retailers to allow you to mix your own CD, it is very inconvenient and something that many people just aren't interested in when they can download and music file in just a couple of minutes on the Internet.

Downloading music off the Internet is very fast under most circumstances and it's even viable if you have an older modem connection. On a broadband connection, it typically takes a couple of minutes to download one song and considerably less if you have a faster connection.

Files are normally compressed in MP3 format, which has long been the most popular format of music on computers. MP3 is not quite as high in quality is a CD is, but many people won't even be able to tell the difference. However, many online shops which sell music downloads will allow you to download high definition files in various other formats, and offering something far more versatile to their customers.

It certainly is a blessing and finally the music industry has got its act together and started providing the services, since before it was one of the main reasons than many people were turning to piracy, simply for the convenience factor.

What's more, downloading legal music online also means that you don't have to worry about having to convert a CD into MP3 files. Since many people use portable media players these days, CDs are hardly convenient. In fact, CDs are getting quite outdated and for most people they are all but obsolete.

One of the most popular resources for downloading music online legally is iTunes, the most well known resource of all. You have no doubt heard of this, and probably use it regularly if you use and iPod. It is a great way to download cheap music legally.

However, there are various other options and many countries in the world have legal music download resources available so you are not only limited to music from your own country in most cases. All you need is a reasonably fast Internet connection, for credit card and a bit of money to spend. You will be able to build up your music collection much faster, cheaper and what's more, you will be able to have exactly what you want and no extra files that you aren't interested in.

Staying In Sac

By James Pynn

The Golden State has never been a stranger to metropolises. From San Francisco to Los Angeles to Newport Beach and back up the coast again, there are no shortages of big cities to choose from. To be sure, smaller college towns like Berkeley, Davis, and Irvine also get folded into the Golden State batter. With all of these options, what makes Sacramento the capitol?

Christened by the stalwart Gabriel Moraga, Sacramento was little more than a trading post when John Sutter arrived in 1839 from Switzerland. Within ten years he and his heirs would guide the transformation of the trading post into a military barracks for the U.S. Army and eventually into an incorporated city. Sacramento is the oldest incorporated city in the state, having been invested in 1850. This does not mean it is the oldest, however, as that distinction belongs to Monterey.

With the defeat of the Mexican army in 1848, the capital of California was moved from Monterey. The first city to be designated the new capitol was San Jose. When the state legislature met there in 1850, it was argued the capitol should be moved further inland to avoid retribution either from Mexico or the Spanish Empire.

With James Marshall's famous discovery of gold in the American River in Coloma, Sacramento's fortunes were about to change. In the years that followed, Sacramento became the inheritor of the California Gold Rush. The city flooded with new residents and economic prosperity. As evidence of Sacramentos growing importance, the Transcontinental Railroad terminated in the city, solidifying it stature as the gateway city to California.

After abortive stints in Vallejo and Benicia, the capitol was moved, finally, to Sacramento in 1854. Taking advantage of the citys tremendous infrastructure and rail access, the Constitutional Convention named Sacramento the permanent capitol of California in 1879. Inspired by the nations capitol, the California State Capitol was not actually completed until 1874, where it stands to this day in tribute to the vision and foresight of John Sutter.

The manufacturers are working hard to be different from each other and want to be unique thereby offering the cyclists more choices to choose from depending on what best suits them.

The vital goal of each cyclist is to win the race and therefore, the choices of getting the perfect bike for the race is narrowed down. The factors to consider in choosing a bicycle for the race includes its steering power, light weight, stiff production system and the most important of all is its tough build. What are the other three factors without the fourth? The biker may be the lead at the start but his bicycle ends up later like a punched soda can.

Established as one of the leading manufacturer of mountain bikes, GT has dedicated itself to produce a bike which is durable enough to last the excruciating biking race and is powerful and light enough to win it. GT uses the Force Optimized Construction process.

One Piece Frame Construction utilizes the supreme strength to weight ratio. It is envisioned to give the least chances of failure in system construction because strength of the bike is especially focused.

PROPRIETARY KITING AND SEQUENCE PROCESS is a process in which the fibers that are in the frame are assembled to face the direction of the force on the frame. This will then provide greater comfort in riding.

The frames are blended effectively to further strengthen the bike. Carbon fibers are strategically positioned in such a way that areas of concentration for strength are maximized for powerful steering.

Durability is the number one concern for cyclist that is why GT mountain bike tube is especially designed to neutralizes the factors which damages the bike's frame. The optimum construction of the tube is made possible by the shape and design of the carbon frames.

GT bicycle owners are mostly athletes that wins in a mountain bike race this is due to the durability of the bike and its construction that ranks it as one of the best. What more is that GT mountain bike is equipped with Independent Drivetrain which eliminates pedal feedback allowing the cyclist to be faster.

Fly Fishing Gear - The Essentials

By Carol Engleson

When it comes to fly fishing tackle, there are many things that could be considered a part of that group. I will be going over a few of the things that you should have when you are out fly fishing, more than just the fly fishing rod and reel.

You will have a variety of flies to use as bait for the fish. Flies are meant to mimic the look and movement of a fishes natural food source. Some fish prefer different flies, and when you use what they are used to eating, your chances are better of landing a bite. Keep several different types of flies close at hand so you can choose the right fly for the specific fish you are angling for.

The type of line you will be using also plays a big role in fly fishing. Not only do you need a certain pound test if you are fishing for bigger fish, but you will also need line that you will be able to cast efficiently. The line must also match the standards of the fly rod and reel so that you will be able to reel and cast properly.

When you are fly fishing, more than likely you will be standing in the water, which is also known as wading. For this you will need a pair of waders to put on. There are many styles of waders that are out there and you will have to pick a pair that will meet your criteria of fly fishing.

Another part of the fishing outfit you should have on top of the waders is a fishing vest. This makes it convenient to store some of your fly fishing tackle in. This allows you to have quick access to flies and other things, instead of returning to shore every time you have to make an adjustment.

Having a pair of good fishing pliers is also a good idea to have on hand. You can keep them in your vest or your waders. The pliers make the process of removing the hook from the fished mouth a much easier task, and also increasing the fishes chance of survival.

Another thing that you can have as a part of your fly fishing gear, but not absolutely necessary, is a water proof camera. Nothing will help you remember those fly fishing trips like a picture, especially if you land a big one!

Of course there are other things that can have as apart of your fly fishing gear set up, such as nets and gloves, along with other stuff. But if you are just starting out these are the essential things that you will need to start fly fishing.

Restful Traeth Bychan Beach, Near Anglesey Coastal Path, Great for Dinghy Sailing

Friday, August 28, 2009 · 0 comments

By David Phillips

Small, quiet, and sheltered east facing Traeth Bychan beach south of Moelfre on Anglesey is reached down a winding country lane off the A5025. come here and you will appreciate some beautiful coastal views from the peaks of Carneddau on the mainland, to Puffin Island, Llanddona heights, Great Orme and Liverpool Bay.

Around the back of the beach are some interesting rock formations and above these thick grassy steep slopes and from here emerges the Anglesey Coastal Path route running from Benllech in the south to Moelfre in the north. The coastal path is well signposted and there is a gate on the left as you approach the beach down the hill, next to a small cottage which is built just above the rocks and the high water mark.

If you want a cup of coffee, tea or an ice cream, don't worry, as Traeth Bychan beach cafe is literally only about 25 metres up on the right from this small sandy cove. Next to the cafe is a public car park with space for about 25 cars. Opposite the cafe and also on the hill behind are static caravans, which could be a good vacation base for your island explorations.

A good time to come to this quiet, sheltered beach is autumn and winter, when you can really appreciate the fine sea views and coastal walks, with little if any boating activity taking place. Traeth Bychan has a historic angle which many are not aware of, relating to a maritime incident in Liverpool bay.
