It's so easy to get caught up in the preparations for the holidays. Shopping, baking, cooking, wrapping, cleaning, and chauffeuring the kids everywhere they need to go. As you make your list of things to do, be sure to include some fun activities that include your friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors. After all, fellowship and companionship is a big part of the holiday season, so make sure you spend some quality fun time with those who mean the most to you.

Christmas caroling is a fun way to not only include people you already know, but a great way to break the ice and meet new neighbors and people. Print up some lyrics, grab a portable stereo with Christmas music, and tour your neighborhood singing Christmas carols. It doesn't matter that you're not the best singer. People of all ages will enjoy this old tradition carried into the modern holiday season. If you don't feel comfortable caroling in neighborhoods or at houses you're unfamiliar with, consider having a mobile caroling bus that goes to the homes of those you know to carol. Take a bucket of candy canes or Christmas candy to pass out to the homeowner as you leave. You might also consider caroling on behalf of a favorite charitable organization. Construct a secure donation bucket or box that clearly shows the name and address of the organization you're helping. Some people might not be comfortable donating to you personally, and that's okay.

Mano a few strips of pre-printed paper with the organization's name, address and telephone number along with a brief statement about what they do, and encourage them to donate directly.

Ice skating is another great activity to do with friends and family. Not only does it promote getting some exercise, but it's a great way to spend time outside enjoying the crispness of the winter air if you live in the right climate. If you don't, most towns have local skating rinks. Check their schedule in advance and send out invitations to several family members or friends and make an afternoon of it.

Consider encouraging your friends and relatives to join in a tour of volunteers to help a local nursing home or shelter home this holiday season. You can sing carols with the residents of the nursing home, or help dish out hot soup bowls and pass out blankets for those in need. If you know a family in need this holiday season, perhaps their friends and relatives could put together a holiday gift basket and fill a laundry basket of food, baked goods, and treats and small gifts for Christmas children of the family. It is a good way to teach children the importance of reward their community and help those who are less fortunate then themselves.

What a climber wears during climbing is the most important thing he/she can do! In fact, during climbing clothes are not meant to be stylish, they are to be protective. When it comes to climbing clothes, it starts form the skin. By that, in rock climbing it is essential to have good "breathing" clothes that allow the sweat to move outward and to let air to flow. This is true if you're climbing the Alps or in Tuscany. The bottom layer is usually thermal clothing.

The second layer is more for movement. You definitely not want a shirt that is constricting as it may become annoying and a hazard. Most often vests or jackets are preferred for the outer layer. You must remember that keeping the elbows, shoulders, and wrists free is very critical. The outer layer pants can also be in different forms, as well. In fact, some climbers prefer to wear shorts. There are also different types of shorts for different climbs, as well! Some of the shorts are just as ordinary as the ones you would wear to the beach; if not more! No matter what, good climbing shorts should have the ability to stretch without sticking. Also, they will be very durable and be able to go through a lot! Pants also must have that same quality; being tough and durable. Most importantly, the knees have to be strong and flexible. Many pants are now insulated and waterproof, as well.

Alike other clothing, there are many different types of jackets, as well. In fact, they make jackets to do everything from keeping cold winds off, to protecting from damaging sun rays, to keeping you dry. If not properly dressed, you may get life-threatening viruses.

One of the most important items to a climber is the helmet. However, if you fall from a great distant no helmet will save you; but for the smaller ones it will make a considerable difference! Not only that, but it is very common to have rock fragments to fall upon you when climbing the rocks!

When planning your vacation, it is crucial that you think of every accommodation that you need. Even if you have to make a list, it will be well worth it; even life saving!
