My Seadoo And Summer Camping Weekends

Every summer, every Friday, I have the same old routine. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the same old routine. It's a little hard for me to concentrate on work for the entire day, because I'm so excited about the weekend ahead. I'm talking about packing up my SUV with my camping and fishing gear, hitching up my seadoo trailer, and driving up to the lake for the weekend where I spend some get away time just hanging out and cruising around the lake on my pwc.

Every weekend of the warm summer months (except for the occasional wedding that we have to attend) I get out of town with my camp gear all packed up, and my seadoo hooked up and covered ready for trailering. This is my favorite time of year, and it seems that every year I convince another one of my friends to buy a seadoo and join my growing gang of buddies who also spend their weekends camping and seadooing.

If I manage to leave work right on time and the traffic is decent I can make it to my camp site by 7:30 pm. This gives me time to have a quick 30 minute Seadoo ride before it gets too dark. After my Friday night ride, I put up my tent and start a fire. One guy in our group is designated to make Friday dinner. This chore alternates amongst the group and can preclude the Friday ride.

Bright and early Saturday morning is my favorite part of the whole weekend. I make a quick pot of coffee, have a little snack, and grab my travel mug and fire up the seadoo. My favorite alteration to my seadoo has to be the bolt on coffee holder that I use for my super slow, check out the lake rides on Saturday morning. I get to see what's been going on during the weekdays I'm not here, and sometimes if I get out early enough I turn off the engine and just float for a while enjoying the morning quiet out on the middle of the lake. After an hour or so I head back, and help make a huge camping breakfast, and really start the whole camping weekend.

My seadoo ride on Saturday afternoon is definitely a different pace than my early morning trawl. I meet up with all my seadoo buddies and we head out for a combination of touring, visiting other campsites, and we inevitably take part in some watercraft games and races. Wave jumping another seadoo wake has to be my personal favorite. Although seadooing in a group is tons of fun, I don't want to fail to mention how important it is to keep your eyes open and follow some basic common sense and safety rules so your weekend isn't ruined with an unnecessary accident.

The end of the weekend inevitably arrives way too soon. Before I know where the time has gone it seems that it's Sunday afternoon and the sun is on it's way down. Some thinking ahead means that the seadoos have had enough time to dry out since the late morning spin around the lake, so we don't have to put the seadoo covers back on wet pwcs. All there is left to do is to pack up the gear, hook up the pwc trailer, and head back to the city, before we get to do it all over again next weekend.
