Fair Trade Flowers Build A Strong World

Fair trade flowers are changing the world through the introduction of fair market wages and the elimination of slave wages within the flower farming industry. The overwhelming impact that this has on developing nations, the towns and the residents is huge, and the continuation of fair trade markets only promises for brighter tomorrows for the future of the flower farmers.

In the flower industry most of the workers in the fields are women with children. While slave wages have plagued the flower industry for a long time, the introduction of fair trade flowers ensures the consumer that the men and women who have worked tirelessly to bring the joy of flowers into our lives are receiving a fair market cut.

Just like in developed countries, these women want to empower their children to do better than them. We all want to be well paid for our work and we all expect the employer to come through with honest wages for our time and efforts. Fair trade markets are about ensuring that those who are impoverished are not subject to being exploited as well.

As the fair trade industry makes a mark on the world, children not only go to school and receive nutrition at home, but they also have the tools to get their homework done. Families are able to buy school supplies and clothing, which in turn supports the local industries and helps invest money back into the communities.

The entire community benefits as internal funds become available to start making sure that they can maintain local businesses as well as develop community programs to keep their children's education and safety on track. An entire town can blossom thanks to the fair trade industry market and fair and honest wages.

With better nutrition, education, prosperity, and healthy farming methods the communities have a reduced need for medical care while also having much better access to medical care. Workers are able to continue to work and children are able to continuously attend school because they are healthy.

The more we support fair trade flowers, as well as the other fair trade industries, the more we are letting those companies know that we will financially support their efforts by buying from them. Honest companies that do the right things are being sought out by consumers these days, and this naturally increases the number of companies participating in fair trade industries.

Coffee, tea, flowers, and other basic essentials are now available as a fair trade product. Every time a consumer chooses to support one of these companies they are also choosing not to support the exploitation and the slave wages that other companies impose on struggling communities around the world.
