Herbals are plants that are natural source for medicine and wellness. During the past, our forefathers use herbal plants to cure sickness among the community. Knowledge of herbalism is passed on from generation to generations. Tribes usually have "witch doctors" among them whose main task is to cure the sick tribes people and research the surroundings about other medicinal possibilities.

In Rehoboth, Massachusetts there is an annual 10 month long program on the study of Herbalism and its subdivisions. The course aims for people to understand better the basic and advance studies on Herbalism. It starts on January of this year and ends on October. It is pioneered by Charles Cochrane a certified Herbalist. The study also aims to increase public awareness on the significance of Herbalism in people's everyday lives and its contribution to the society.

Attendees are encouraged to pass on the knowledge they had gain from the lecture and spread it onto their respective community for proper dissemination. After finishing a course on the Herbal Apprentice Program, people are expected to understand the common uses of Herbal plants. They are also expected to be able to write their own Herbalism Guidebook for home or community use. Learnings from the program absolutely benefit the community as a whole.

Since we are on the "G-generation" or "green generation" many people are becoming more concern of our planet's condition and growing climate change or global warming. The program arrives on a timely manner so people could be well informed on the basics of Alternative Medicine and to use or natural resources more effectively. Through this we could save up on a lot of energy being emitted from pharmaceutical manufacturing plants that does not conform to environmental standards.
