Give me cover fire I will take on that sniper on the cliff Well we can imagine the rush and the excitement that crawls through the veins. Yes, Airsoft is typical game resembling the actual war zone and the players can feel the extreme rush of Adrenaline. This explains the growing popularity of the game. Stepping out of the old fashioned paintball games, the ammunitions and the guns have very well fit in the Airsoft arena.

But apart from the playing field and the rules of the game, another popular feature of airsoft is its guns. When you first see one you can easily be fooled into thinking that they are real life guns but after close inspection, you will soon find out that they are simply made out of plastic. This does not mean however that the entire composition of the gun is just plastic, as it also has other metal parts where there are sensitive mechanisms that need to be protected as well. Moreover, airsoft guns also come in different types.

Spring Airsoft " This is known as the most basic type of airsoft gun and also considered to be entry level in the sport. The spring airsoft is also very easy to operate and for the most part requires manual control. Thus, the gun uses no other external powers such as electricity or batteries to keep it performing.

The Airsoft guns are made out of plastic however, they the not entirely made up of plastic. There are many metal parts with sensitive mechanism and if they are maintained well they can last for a very long time. There are different types of Airsoft guns to choose from. Let us have a look at them.

Electric Airsoft " As the name implies, this type of gun already makes use of electricity to keep it firing up. They are also very popular in Japan yet still made readily available. The electric airsoft is fired through the use of an electric motor which conveniently works inside to shoot out the loaded pellets. Compared to the spring airsoft, the electric type already has an automated cocking action. Plus, there are also many different variants now made available in the gaming market.

Gas-powered Airsoft " For more advanced players, the gas-powered airsoft is preferred especially if you want to experiment on the pressures and control of the gun. This airsoft gun specifically uses gas in its pressurized form to propel forth the BB or the airsoft pellets with additional force.

The gas powered blow back version is the most popular among the expert despite its high cost against non-blow back. This is primarily because the speed that the gas powered blow back incurs immediately right on the chamber to prepare for another fire. This means that you can count on multiple gunfire or a rapid succession of pellets for a more effective hit and a close simulation of the real thing.

There are two versions of the Gas-powered Airsoft guns. One is blowback and the other is non-blowback. In the blowback version, the gas is blown back on the chamber which makes the gun ready for another shot immediately. This is a very costly version of the gun. There is yet another version of the Airsoft guns and is known as Hybrid Airsoft. It has the automatic features of the electric gun and also has other advanced feature. This type rolled out in the market in 2006.
