There are generally two types of people that we see and observe during craft fairs, these are the vendors and the buyers/ spectators. Craft fair vendors are the merchants who bring their goods for the buyers that are interested and willing to buy them. As a common knowledge, there are several things that vendors or salespeople should learn and take part in their system in order to be successful at craft fairs. These things are what we will discuss here in this article.

First, Customer Service. Customer Service is a wide subject. It involves smiling, being patient enough to answer questions, creating a great impression, wearing a neat and agreeable outfit, and so on. Customer Service is the thing that can lead to people buying from you so you better practice a lot of this and have knowledge of it if you have plans of becoming a vendor. Communication is a vital tool in delivering and comprehending messages. This involves words and actions. When talking to a customer, a craft fair vendor should maintain eye contact and speak in a sincere manner in order to build the trust and confidence of the buyer.

Customer Service involves A LOT of understanding on the vendor's side. There are times that buyers would ask you a truck load full of questions only to find out that they were not really into buying your stuff. That's okay. Patience is a virtue and this virtue you will indeed learn when you became a vendor and sell at craft fairs.

Before creating your product you should first come to terms with these things: quality and target market. Target market consists of the people from what age range, gender, activities, lifestyle, etc. does your product fit in. It is the main factor that would let you know if your product is saleable and if there are possibilities for you to have a target market. It may be hard at first but being a craft vendor is a fulfilling and rewarding job.
