1c. Australia has been dubbed as the outdoor adventure capital of the world, and rightfully so. After all, Australia is home to spectacular natural landscapes and amazing wildlife, which provide endless opportunities for exciting activities to try out during your adventure holidays in Australia.

Diving - Australia is surrounded by many reefs, including the Great Barrier Reef on the northeast side, the largest coral reef in the world which stretches on for roughly 2,600 kilometres, and the Ningaloo Reef on the western side. These two reefs provide food and sanctuary for many colorful and interesting fishes, including whale sharks, doplhins and manta rays, and also create magnificent underwater spectacles which are certainly worth a diving expedition.

Canoeing and Kayaking - There are many beautiful and untamed rivers in Australia, too, which are perfect for water activities during your adventure holidays in Australia. Canoeing and kayaking are two popular activities, which, in some instances, can be enjoyed even at night during the full moon. If you would rather stay in the ocean, though, you can try sea kayaking, particularly on the waterfront of Tasmania. Sea kayaks are available for rent for a few hours or even as long as a week.

Hiking - Australians are fond of hiking. In fact, they like it so much that they invented their own term for it - bushwalking. This is one activity you can certainly have fun doing, particularly in the Blue Mountains or Kakadu National Park. The Blue Mountains is just a 90-minute drive from Sydney and is littered with cozy cafes and surrounded by panoramic views. Though smaller, the Kakadu National Park up north is equally spellbinding, with rainforests and wetlands where you can easily lose yourself.

Skiing - Even in winter, the adventure doesn't end. For some, it becomes even better because the mountain slopes are coated with lots of snow, making them perfect for skiing. Victoria and Tasmania are especially known for their excellent ski resorts. In fact, Tasmania enjoys one of the greatest snowfalls, since it is the southernmost island of Australia and the last stop before Antarctica. Aside from skiing, Tasmania also offers a winter wonderland suitable for snowboarding and dog sledding.

Rock climbing and rappelling - Rock climbing and rappelling are two popular outdoor activities in Australia whether in winter or in summer, so make sure you try them during your adventure holidays in Australia. Whether you're looking for a rock made of limestone, sandstone or granite, or whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber, you're sure to find a favorite among the various rock formations in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Bungee jumping - Bungee jumping is not for the faint of heart, but it can definitely be a memorable experience. Choose from many different bungee jumping establishments, along with various tourist packages. Most offer body harnesses for the utmost safety while some offer leg harnesses for genuine thrill-seekers. Aside from the adrenaline rush, you're sure to enjoy the views, as well - if you keep your eyes open, that is.

Skydiving - If you enjoyed being suspended in mid-air so much, you should definitely try out skydiving over Australia, which is also offered by many establishments. If you want something more relaxing, though, you can try riding a hot air balloon over Canberra and Melbourne and savor equally breathtaking views. With all these activities and plenty of others, you'll surely understand why this scenic country is the outdoor adventure capital of the world at the end of your adventure holidays in Australia.
