Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally figures out that a horse race has been fixed, then it inexplicably shits into a cartoon like train wreck. Cast includes Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clark Gregg, Emile Hirsch, Woodland Whitaker, Kelly Hu, Evan Parke, Taylor Nichols, Winner Rivers, and Jon Bernthal. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: On Harry's eleventh birthday, he learns about who he is. He is the orphaned son of two very powerful wizards. He too has magical powers, and he is invited to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is off on the biggest adventure imaginable.
Illuminata: Life, love, lust, and aspiration in a theatrical troupe in the beginning of the 2Oth century N.Y.C., although the feel is uniquely European. Playwright Turturro is in love with the corporation's megastar/supervisor, and longs to have her act his latest play. The Good Shepherd: Clutching tale of a spiritually censored youthful guy who is enlisted at Yale to do espionage work throughout WW2 and then to join the secret intelligence agency that would eventually become the CIA, even though it means an astronomical sacrifice to his family life. Damon is phenomenal and a well selected cast fills all the roles very well. Cast includes Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie, Alec Baldwin, Tammy Blanchard, Billy Crudup, Robert De Niro, and John Turturro. Slavers: Slavers is about the slave trade business that went on in Africa throughout the 19th century. An excellent cast is saddled with second-rate script. Cast includes Trevor Howard, Ron Ely, Britt Ekland, Jurgen Goslar, Ray Milland, Ken Gampu, and Cameron Mitchell. (102 minutes, 1978)
