Shopping For Radio Controlled Cars

The concept of buying radio controlled cars either in a shop or online seems straight forward but I found the whole process initially overwhelming.

There seems to be an expert site on RC products in every search. Forums and articles all saying how great their product is but how can I tell what site is best for me!

Then I am left with the decision to choose the actual radio controlled car I want.

There are various options to choose from including if you want to build it yourself or have it pre built or ready to run as they call it.

Next I am presented with the choice of nitro, electric or petrol to power my car. My head says petrol but what option is best for me as I am new to this?

Now the big one what type of radio control car do you want? One you can race, go off-roading with or even ones that climb over rocks. Seriously, as new buyer I was shocked at just how much I had to choose from and found some of it confusing.

So what's the solution to understanding what car is best suited to me. Well its simple, you have to ask yourself what is your main reason, stumbling block or factor for wanting this RC car.

For example if price is your primary concern you need to only really look at electric models and not the petrol or nitro versions. This will reduce the options substantially and make your decision easier.

However if performance and going ultra fast is you single most important reason for wanting this machine then you have to look at anything but electric models and choose a fuel based machine.

Like anything some of these cars will come with ongoing costs and this should always be in the forefront of your mind when making your final choice. The last thing you want is an expensive car just gathering dust in a cupboard.

I don't want to state the obvious but I'm going too. You get what you pay for with radio controlled cars so that extra few dollars or pounds could make a significant difference it the running and performance of your car. Choose wisely.
