I have put together a short list of movie hits for 2008. I have chosen a few of the movies I enjoyed watching this year. Hopefully you will see some films here that are worth watching.
THE DARK KNIGHT: Batman, and Lt. Gordon and D.A. Harvey Dent, are taking the major criminals off the streets. Things are going very well, but now a new super criminal arrives on the scene, and starts a crime spree. Batman is in a battle now, as the Joker has unleashed his criminal insanity on Gotham City.
WALL-E: This picture is a science fiction adventure in animation. Mankind has left Earth, since it had become a pile of rubbish. Waste removal robot, Wall-E, has been left to continue cleaning. Years later, when a robot namend Eve shows up searching to see if the planet can sustain any life, Wall-E is finally not alone. Eventually, when Eve is recovered by the craft that sent her, Wall-E stows away, and thus starts the adventure of his robot life.
HAMLET 2: Unsucessful actor Dana Marshz has moved on to teaching the high school theater classes to students who just don't care. When the high school loses a major building, the powers to be feel the useless theater coarses will be what is dropped. Wanting to fight, he plans to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, an original interpretation of the Shakespeare classic, which he writes himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: With a collection of acting greats this film is a parody of recent war movies. To get a realistic performance from his super star cast to see the movie be a success, the seemingly bold director into the middle of nowhere, leaving them to fend for themselves. The plan is to scare them into making a war movie monster, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director walks over a land mine and is blown apart, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they are covinced everything is just an act, but things are getting very, very real. Great cast with incredible make up for Robert Downey Jr.and Tom Cruise.
BOLT: Bolt is a fun animation. Bolt is a dog actor, who in his role on television, is a super hero dog. The thing about Bolt is that he honestly believes he has superpowers. When, by chance, he is put into a real life situation, he discovers that he is just a dog. Needing to find his way home, he is aided by a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hampster named Rhino.
Jumper: While almost drowning, David Rice (Hayden Christensen) learns an amazing thing. He has the ability to actually teleport himself to any place he wants to go, at any time. Later, he becomes aware that there are others with this skill. After years of "jumping" around the planet, he learns that there are people that are trying to rid the world of jumpers. He must fight for his life, as the hunters believe he should die.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This movie is about Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton), who hhas been changed into a creature called the green Hulk. The film is a story about the comic character the Hulk. Key cast members are Edward Norton, Tim Roth and Liv Tyler. This film is directed by Louis Leterrier. This movie would be classified as a science fiction film.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Full time stoner Dale Denton has just seen a bad cop, and the local drug king pin, murder someone. He was spotted witnessing what's gone down. Sure that he has been spotted, he is so shaken he throws down his joint, a rare blend namend pineapple express, and gets away fast. The marijuana is particular enough, that the bad guys can. The "fun" is on, the bad guys are hunting, and Dale and dealer Saul are now running for their lives.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: It was a wild night in Las Vegas. Joy and Jack, who had just met, get up the next day and find out that they are married. They wind up winning a large jackpot at the slot machines, but the question is who should get the money, so they try to settle it in court. It is decided that they must stay together for six months, and see if they can settle their differences. With lots of money at stake, the battle is on as both want to have the cash for themselves.
