Caribbean islands are of course, one of the capitals of mass tourism. People come mainly for the sun, beach and water activities. Most travelers come to these islands from the US or Canada. Many of these tourists come in large groups or package tours. These islands make people think about cool breezes, swaying palms trees, white sand beaches, glittering water rum and cocktails after sunset. Here are the most popular islands in the area.

Barbados is one of the most popular destinations in the area. This old British colony is most popular for its beautiful white beaches, majestic rain forests, and tropical flowers. The island's botanical gardens, museum, and historical St.Johns church are the main tourist attractions in Barbados besides its beach. Barbados also has a very active night life of singing, dancing, and drinking. Barbados is a great place to go relax and unwind from life.

Another great place to see is Puerto Rico. This romantic spot is great for newly weds and couples who want to pamper themselves in luxury and comfort. There are many great spas and resorts on the island. Besides surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and other water sports, the wildlife and adventure on this island is also fabulous. Additionally, Puerto Rico has a rich cultural heritage and a lively culture that cherishes dancing, partying, and celebrations. On Puerto Rico, you can spend your days in the sun on the beach or trekking around the islands interior and then spend your night celebrating with good dancing and great dining.

An out of the way destination that you can visit is Saona island. This island is part of the country of the Dominican Republic. The island is famous for the natural beauty of its beaches and it has appeared in many films and advertisements. The island has great wildlife and fish around it. On the island, there is a lot of scuba diving, as it is surrounded by great reefs and lots of tropical fish. You'll be able to do more than just site in the sun by visiting an amphitheater, small church, art galleries, and boutiques.

Haiti was one the first independent nations in the Caribbean and was founded by Christopher Columbus. This amazing island has a lot of great wildlife and forests. It is mostly known for its poverty and strife but it is really a beautiful island. The bad press keeps most people away so you will find cheap prices, few tourists, and deserted beaches. The locals are happy to have you since so few people come to visit.

The Caribbean islands are a wonderful place to go and holiday. There are many places to visit and relax at. These islands also have a lot to do besides just sitting on the beach or swimming in the ocean. Here, you'll find great food, amazing cultures, jungles and much more.
