We were at the Cherry Blossom Festival located at Wooster Square last weekend, and we had such a good day there. I am shouting out a big thank you to our wonderful volunteers: Laura, Pam and Vi Phan. They were such a big help with meeting and greeting the people who stopped by our booth. And, I'd also like to thank the people who dropped by to hang out and chat about other upcoming fairs.
As you may well be aware, the Festival is currently organizing the Favorite Poem Project with the partnership of the Connecticut Library Consortium, and other explosive community groups whose names escape me at the moment. People from the Cherry Blossom Festival have been invited to come over to our booth when Sunday comes. Aspiring poets are to craft their rhymes, recite it on camera. If you're too shy, you can just copy it onto our poetry journal instead.
An effective way to attract a crowd (which we use and will continue to use on Sunday) is to offer some of the homemade candies that Laura made. It has proven to be quite effective at getting people's attention. As kids and parents both enjoy the sweet treats, we also make sure to satisfy their sweet tooth as well as their mental one.
You can be part of the fun as well! It's never too late to find the inner rhymer in you, and you never know, you may have spark of literary genius manifest itself during the event. Drop by our table during one of the upcoming fairs and festivals.
For a complete schedule of craft shows in your area, all you have to do is make a casual search on the Internet. These days, it is very easy to find online fliers; and once you know which one you can attend to, we'll see if we setup a booth there as well.
