This summer, pick up your swimsuit and suntan lotion bottle, and book a cheap vacation to Bali - a jewel in the Indian Ocean.

In the 1930s, Bali became a trendy place for surfers, who came in from every country to experience the amazing waves around the island. Since that time, Bali has been a surfer's manna waiting to be experienced, with beaches that never end and weather that is perfect all year round.

As the island is not that large you will never have to look too much to discover idyllic surfing conditions, and the large range of surf conditions also provides different experiences for both experienced and new surfers. With its great location in the Indian Ocean, the swells are perfect year round, and are ideal if you are looking to get in some off-season surfing.

The best time to visit the island is in July, because it is the time when water is cool and the skies are clear. From December to March there is more rain as the rainy season sets in, and so the surfing conditions are better on the eastern side of the island.

Medewi Beach is a beautiful surfing spot for new surfers, with restaurants present everywhere providing an option other than surfing. Kuta Beach is also good for newcomers as there are different surfing schools here that you can sign up with for lessons. You can also charter or procure equipment on this beach. Dreamland is another surfing beach where all sorts of surfers will find themselves having fun in the swell. Balangan is another nice beach for new surfers, with less competition and the potential to score more waves.

The waves are very good for inexperienced surfers at the above mentioned beaches. In contrast, Bingin Beach is the one that qualified surfers collect at. Like Bingin, Uluwatu is also for qualified surfers as the waves can go as high as fifteen feet, and prove treacherous for those untrained or inexpert. A similar wave height is usual at Nusa Dua, where this risk is coupled with the jagged reef bottom that can shred apart green surfers. The surf at Canggu Beach is also great, but it is a good idea to be careful about the undertow and sharp reef that can hurt those who aren't watchful. Padang is another beach for veteran surfers, with giant swells and huge barrels that are both enjoyable to watch and surf.

Bali is a good location for some economical surfing action, with tourists collecting here from every country. Expect to procure or charter equipment if you don't already have it. You will be able to benefit from a low-priced holiday here with the advantage of being able to experience different kinds of waves every day.

So, if you're looking for a surfing vacation, then this one is surely perfect for you. Not only low-cost, but it also gives you many surfing options so that you can completely enjoy your time here.
