As the continent of the Unites States is so large due to its vastness, it is impractical to visit all of the states in any single vacation. The ideal method in which to enjoy the United States without putting a dent in your bank account is to focus on one region or city, and ensure you enjoy it properly. You can decide to see the city life in New York, or the exquisiteness of Connecticut, or even visit the Great Lakes.

Las Vegas is another one of the options available to you if you want to experience a cheap vacation in the United States. While you may think that Las Vegas is all about the casinos, this is actually not true. The city and its surrounding areas have a lot more to offer than just quick marriages and gambling.

Firstly, there are various amusement parks, including the Stratosphere and the Excalibur, where the rides are great. The variety of museums in the city will also keep you amused for days. There is a laser sky show in the old city that you can also take pleasure in cheaply. The most excellent thing is that you can go to twenty of the city's attractions on the Las Vegas Power Pass, which makes it much more economical to take pleasure in this break.

The Flamingo is a grand place to go if you want to visit a wildlife habitat. If the lions there have just had cubs, you can even hold them and take a picture with these little babies. The Imperial Palace with its assortment of old vehicles from many differing decades is an additional place to visit, as well as the aquarium and fountain show at Caesars Palace, Silverton, and the Bellagio. MGM Grand is one more spot to tour, and if you are lucky enough you might even get to see the renowned MGM Grand lions and their cubs.

Of course, you can also choose to do the traditional Las Vegas thing and go into a casino, but in order for you to keep this a cheap vacation remember to keep an eye on your budget. If you are lucky enough, you might even spot a celebrity or two, and you might even see some high rollers in action.

These activities were all on 'the strip', but if you go off the strip you can visit over seven kinds of museums, the Botanical Park, the ice arena, and even a chocolate factory. The chocolate factory provides you with a lot of fun and you will really enjoy this trip. There is also a rock climbing centre if you are an adventure enthusiast.

For more fun, you can get out of Las Vegas and take in the places of interest surrounding it. For example, Hoover Dam is a national monument and has amazing sights and vistas. You can also go over to the Death Valley National Park or Bonnie Springs by Old Nevada. You could call into the Grapevine Canyon and take in the dramatic landscapes. Another good location to visit is Lake Mead which will provide you with a means to cool down in the heat.

Even though you may have thought that the only sightseeing opportunities to do in Las Vegas are inside a casino, you should be aware of the fact that this city has much more than that to offer its visitors. With accurate scheduling, you can get economical housing and a great package deal, and thus make this an exciting time for you and your family this summer.
